Private Lessons
Learn the basics of knitting or crocheting! Do you want to learn a specific knitting or crochet technique? These one-on-one sessions are great for learning what you need to know! Call and make an appointment for a private lesson & get instruction with one of our experienced staff. By appointment only.

Traditional Fair Isle (Full Day)
Fair Isle knitting produces a thick, warm fabric and is traditionally worked in the round. Come and learn the basics of colour stranding using one or both hands, corrugated ribbing, basic colour theory, double decreases and how to read colour work charts. A traditional tam will be our project for this class. Knitters should have at least advanced beginner knitting skills including how to knit in the round. Bring your lunch as there are no restaurants conveniently nearby.

Granny's and Other Crochet Squares
Crochet is back and so are Granny Squares! Come and learn how to crochet different squares, how to combine them and how to finish them off. We'll talk about basic colour theory so that you can combine colours to bring your squares into the future. Basic crochet skills required. A scarf will be our project for this class.

Continental KnittingHave you ever watched in fascination someone knitting as they hold their yarn in the left hand? Are you left-handed and struggling to knit in a right-handed world? Want to find an easier way to knit with more than one colour? Then this class is for you. You'll learn the basics of Continental Knitting also know as "Picking". Techniques covered will include: the Continental Cast-on, knit stitch, purl stitch, Norwegian purl stitch, increasing and decreasing. Note: This class is suitable for those who have never knit before.

Learn to Knit I
This 3 hour course is for those who have never knit before. Focus is on basic stitches & getting good tension. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Knit II
This 3 hour course is for those who know the basics of knitting & want to expand their knowledge, or for those who haven't knit in a while & want a refresher. Techniques include increasing, decreasing, different methods of casting on & casting off, & basic finishing techniques. It also covers choosing a pattern & the appropriate yarn to make it. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Knit III
This 3 hour course is for those who want to expand their knowledge to include more challenging techniques such as simple cables & textures. Create a lovely scarf while learning moss stitch, basket weave, bobbles, left & right crossing cabled, & how to read cable charts. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet I
This 3 hour course is for those who have never crocheted before. Focus will be basic stitches like chain stitch, single and double crochet, joining in new yarn, good tension and even edges. Includes yarn, hook and a simple pattern to practice what you learn. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet II
This 3 hour course is for those know the basics of crochet & want to expand their knowledge, or for those who haven't crocheted in a while & wan a refresher. Focus will be on increasing & decreasing, half double & treble crochet, & some common textured stitches. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet III
This 3 hour course expands on the skills learned in the 2 previous levels by showing you how to crochet basic shapes, as well as how to join these shapes. Crocheting in the round will also be covered. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Finishing Seminar
Invest 3 hours and learn how to finish your knitted garment so it looks professional. This course teaches you how to sew invisible seams in stocking stitch and garter stitch; pick up stitches; graft stitches together for invisible joins; and many more techniques to give your knitted garments that polished finish you want.
Homework is required for this seminar, so register early enough so you have time to complete it.
