1 ball (50 g / 1¾ oz) Mohair or approx. 100 m (109 yds)
3.25 mm (size 3 US) circular needle - 40 cm (16") long
5.5 mm (size 9 US) circular needle - 60 cm (24") long
set of four 5.5 mm (size 9 US) needles

| METHODS: |
Instructions are written for two sizes, with figures for the larger size in brackets ( ). |
Using 3.25 mm (size 3 US) needle, cast on 78 (90) stitches and place a marker at row end.
Join in round and work (K1, P1) rib for 3 cm (1¼")
Change to 5.5 mm (size 9 US) circular needle.
Round 1: K12 (14), inc. in next st. 6 times. 84 (96) sts.
Round 2 and all even numbered rounds: Knit
Round 3: K13 (15), inc. in next st. 6 times. 90 (102) sts.
Round 5: K14 (16), inc. in next st. 6 times. 96 (108) sts.
Continue increasing in this manner, until there are 108 (138) sts. on needle. Knit straight until work measures 10 cm (4") from
beginning.
Top Shaping:
Round 1: K16 (21), K2tog. 6 times. 102 (132) sts. on needle
Round 2 and all even numbered rounds: Knit
Round 3: K15 (20), K2tog. 6 times. 96 (126) sts. on needle
Round 5: K14 (19), K2tog. 6 times. 90 (120) sts. on needle
Continue decreasing in this manner, until there are a total of 66 (114) sts. on the needle.
Change to double pointed 5.5 mm (size 9 US) needles and continue to decrease in the same manner on EVERY round until 6 sts. remain. Break yarn and pass the end through the remaining 6 sts. Sew in the end with a darning needle to finish off.
Scarf

2 balls (50 g / 1¾ oz) Mohair or approx. 200 m (218 yds)
7.0 mm needles (closest equivalent US size is 10½) |
If you wish to make a fringe, set aside 1 length of 183 cm (72").
Cast on 38 sts using 7.0 mm needles. Rib in (K1, P1) until yarn is finished. Cast off.
Fringe:
Cut the 183 cm (72") length into eight equal pieces (approx. 22.75 cm or 9" each) and knot into a fringe at end of scarf.
Make 4 fringes at each end. Trim to desired length.
