Kitchen Towel
To hang on the handle of your oven


Materials: 2 (50 g) balls of knitting worsted weight cotton
4.5 mm needles

Using 4.5 mm needle, cast on 64 stitches. Knit 3 rows in garter stitch (knitting every row).

Pattern: Row 1: k7, * (p2, k4), repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3
Row 2: k3, p4, * (k2, p4), repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3
Repeat rows 1 & 2 twice more (6 rows of pattern completed)
Row 7: k3, p4, * (k2, p4), repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3
Row 8: k7, * (p2, k4), repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3
Repeat these 8 rows 7 more times.

Top of Towel: Row 1: k2 together across the row
Row 2: knit across
Row 3: k2 together across the row
Row 4: knit across
Row 5: k2 together, knit across to last 2 stitches, k2 together
Rows 6 to 24: knit every row
Row 25: k2 together, knit across to last 2 stitches, k2 together
Row 26: k6, yarn over needle (for button hole), then k6
Row 27: knit across
Row 28 to 30: k2 together, knit across to last 2 stitches, k2 together

Cast off. Sew button in centre, just above the pattern.

Three 50 g balls will make 2 towels.
