Mittens - Beginner
The mysteries of knitting in the round on 4 double pointed needles are revealed in this class. Students will master casting on, ribbing, a simple thumb and top shaping while making a mini mitten. This class is designed for those who've never knit in the round before.

Knitting with Beads
Beads can be incorporated into any knitting project or can even become the whole knitted fabric. We'll explore basic techniques for knitting with beads and complete a small project as well.

Traditional Fair Isle (Full Day)
Fair Isle knitting produces a thick, warm fabric and is traditionally worked in the round. Come and learn the basics of colour stranding using one or both hands, corrugated ribbing, basic colour theory, double decreases and how to read colour work charts. A traditional tam will be our project for this class. Knitters should have at least advanced beginner knitting skills including how to knit in the round. Bring your lunch as there are no restaurants conveniently nearby.

Learn to Knit I
This 3 hour course is for those who have never knit before. Focus is on basic stitches & getting good tension. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Knit II
This 3 hour course is for those who know the basics of knitting & want to expand their knowledge, or for those who haven't knit in a while & want a refresher. Techniques include increasing, decreasing, different methods of casting on & casting off, & basic finishing techniques. It also covers choosing a pattern & the appropriate yarn to make it. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Knit III
This 3 hour course is for those who want to expand their knowledge to include more challenging techniques such as simple cables & textures. Create a lovely scarf while learning moss stitch, basket weave, bobbles, left & right crossing cabled, & how to read cable charts. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet I
This 3 hour course is for those who have never crocheted before. Focus will be basic stitches like chain stitch, single and double crochet, joining in new yarn, good tension and even edges. Includes yarn, hook and a simple pattern to practice what you learn. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet II
This 3 hour course is for those know the basics of crochet & want to expand their knowledge, or for those who haven't crocheted in a while & wan a refresher. Focus will be on increasing & decreasing, half double & treble crochet, & some common textured stitches. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Learn to Crochet III
This 3 hour course expands on the skills learned in the 2 previous levels by showing you how to crochet basic shapes, as well as how to join these shapes. Crocheting in the round will also be covered. Troubleshooting & correcting your mistakes also discussed.

Fearless Finishing
If you have knitted a sweater or two, but still don't feel in control of the finishing process, this class is for you. Working on a mini-sweater & swatches, you will review basic invisible seaming & then move on to seaming ribbing, & garter stitch. Learn to pick up stitches flawlessly. Seam a bound off edge & learn the 3-needle bind-off. Learn how to sew a sleeve into place . You will learn to make & space buttonholes. We will also review placement of increases & decreases, gauge & swatching, how to choose the right size, basic yarn classification & blocking. Come join us & conquer those finishing phobias! br>
Homework is required for this seminar, so register early enough so you have time to complete it.
